Holidays/Festivals/Events: Ukraine has many holidays. They have a New Years Day that takes place on January 1 just like everyone else. They also have Orthodox Christmas which is was still Christmas but instead because they followed the Julian calender they celebrated it 13 days later after Christmas. They also have Women's Day, Orthodox Easter, Labour Day, Victory Day, Holy Trinity Day, Constitution Day, Independence Day.
Foods: Ukrainian's meat includes chicken, fish, and pork products like ham, sausage, bacon, etc. They also eat large amounts of potatoes, cooked buckwheat mush called kasha, sour rye bread, and sweetened bread. Ukrainian traditional dishes include a dish called varenyky which contains boiled dumplings filled with potatoes, sauerkraut, cheese, plums, or blueberries. It can be eaten with sour cream, fried onions, and bacon bits. Another traditional dish is called borsh which is a soup made of beets, cabbage, and meat. There's also a traditional dish called holubtsi. Holubtsi is stuffed cabbage rolls filled with rice, buckwheat, and meat.
